Memorial Day

On memorial day, we were in Moroni with my parents. We went to a small memorial service that the town has every year on memorial day. They have the old war vets shoot their guns after they have posted the colors. And they have a boy scout play the trumpet (taps). It is a very neat little service. I know we all reflect on the memories of our loved ones. I think of my grandparents and what great people they were. I also think of our millitary men and women who are serving our country, giving their lives for the freedoms that we enjoy. I always reflect on my fathers service that he gave in Vietnam. Nobody will ever understand what those men go through as they are away from their families seeing the things that go on in a war zone. It is a life changing experience. My dad has always said "I would'nt take $40 million for the experiences that I've had but I would'nt give 40 cents to do it again!!" They have seen a lot of things and been through a lot of experiences. So if you ever see someone you know who has served our country, or an old war vet, tell them thanks again for what they've done!!!

Happy (belated) Memorial Day to all of our loved ones who have passed on and who are here with us now!!!!! We love you!!!!!

Some of our friends in our ward invited us to go so we gladly accepted!!!! And also, my brother and his girlfriend had been wanting to go so it worked out perfect for them to go with us. Kade and I were able to attend the temple in Vegas on Sat morning!!! It was beautiful/amazing!!! Thats temple is one of my new favorites!!!!

During the weekend, on Friday evening, my brother Sam also purposed to Stacia!!!!!!!!!! So now for the rest of my post I will stop calling her his girlfriend!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOO!!! Saturday we met up with the rest of the bunch and hung out. We all went to the hot tub and laughed our butts off at Randy and Shawn because they climbed in these bowls were the water flows into the hot tubs. You couldnt see there swim shorts so they both looked like they were naked!! hehe! It was hillarious. And we had breakfast with them the next morning which was a bunch of laughs as well. They are a great group of friends.

So then Sunday evening, we went to some red rock canyons with Stacias cousin and her husband. He is a photographer who is amazing so he took our pictures while we were there. It was a beautiful place!!! They were very nice people!!

Mother's Day Weekend

First off.........Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers out there-(a little late hehe). Mothers Day weekend was very nice for us, except for Kade and I were apart till Sat. evening. So I kicked off the weekend (Thurs) with a tour of the Gunnison prison. Two of my brothers work there and they have tours for the family members. It was a very interesting experience. It sure makes you appreciate your freedom. Then Friday I had a really nice mothers day dinner with my lovely inlaws (the women). And Sat. night I went to a mothers and daughters banquet with the gals on my side of the family. There were pictures taken of all these events but not with my camera!!! So I will have to get the pictures and hopefully post them within a decent time frame:) Meanwhile Kade went on a fishing trip with two of his high school buddies, to Flaming Gorge. Even though we were apart, the picture above, makes everything all worth it!!! I just love that picture because he is having a BLAST reeling in that giant fish!! He LOVES to fish and hunt. So he was in heaven:) He caught two fish. One was a 41 incher and the other was a 38 incher! I told him he should've kept one of them but I think it was to big to fit in our cooler!!
This is one of two fish that Kade caught at Flaming Gorge.

Our Sunday Together

So you know those days that you hang out all day, just the two of you, and just enjoy each other, well yesterday, (Sunday) was one of those days. The kind of day you wish you could go back to and re-live again. It started off with sleeping in ofcorse, hung out all morning, then we went to church-which is always nice, then we came home and had a little bite to eat, then headed to the park. We like to go over to the park on Sundays when the wheather is nice and lay a blanket out on the grass and play canasta. We love that game and we are both pretty competitive. The park that we go to has so many trees and is so beautiful. We just talked about lots of things and hung out. I love the "self-timer" feature on cameras so when you are alone, you can take some pics. After the park we went home and grilled some burgers:). Sunday was one of the best days ever!!!!

Cinco De Mayo....On Tres De Mayo:)

On Saturday we went to a Cinco De Mayo party with some friends. There were Wyatt and Tara (above), Joe and Erika (below), and Jason & kids (I didnt get a pic of them). It was a lot of fun. We had lots of yummy food and there was latino musica playing!! The kids got to do a pinata. We all just hung out. It was good to just hang out and laugh!!! Thanks Wyatt and Tara:)
